Outer Banks Community Foundation Awards ICO $10,000 for COVID-19 Rapid Response Grant

In order to meet emerging vital needs, the Outer Banks Community Foundation has launched a COVID-19 Rapid Response Grants Program to support our nonprofits as we adapt, expand, or initiate vital programs to serve the Outer Banks through the Coronavirus crisis.  ICO plays a vital role in our community providing assistance to individuals and families facing a temporary emergency crisis in Dare and Currituck Counties.  If you are experiencing a temporary emergency crisis due to COVID-19, ICO WILL BE TAKING APPLICATIONS OVER THE PHONE 252-480-0070 OR ON-LINE AT INTERFAITHOUTREACH.COM

In 2019 ICO was able to give back to our community over $308,000.00 in monetary outreach.  ICO helps with rent, mortgage, transportation, auto insurance, car payments, transportation supplies, car repairs, gas vouchers, dental, co-pays for doctor appointments, surgery down payments, prescriptions, mental health, other medical needs, utilities; water, electric, phone minutes if you are looking for a job or need it for medical appointment, child care and hurricane relief.  For cancer clients we do medical transportation reimbursement, grants for bills while going through treatment on a case by case basis and referrals to other agencies
