Interfaith Community Outreach Connects with Families at KidsFest 2025
Interfaith Community Outreach (ICO) was excited to take part in KidsFest, a lively and family-focused event that brought together hundreds of children, parents, and caregivers at Roanoke Island Festival Park. ICO’s participation provided a valuable opportunity to connect with the community in a fun and meaningful way.
Families visiting ICO’s booth were greeted with smiles, engaging conversation, and classic games like fishing and bean bag toss, which brought plenty of laughter and excitement. These hands-on activities gave children a chance to play while parents learned more about the free services ICO provides to support families in times of need.
“It was such a joy to spend the day with so many local families,” said Lindsey Kee, Outreach Coordinator for ICO. “Events like KidsFest give us a natural, welcoming way to connect with the community, share who we are, and remind people that they’re not alone – support is here when they need it.”
ICO extends its heartfelt thanks to Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County for organizing KidsFest and creating such a joyful space for families to come together. The event was a wonderful example of community collaboration in action.
As part of its mission, Interfaith Community Outreach offers support in times of crisis and need – ranging from emergency assistance and veteran’s services to disaster relief and energy support. Events like KidsFest are part of ICO’s ongoing effort to be accessible and visible to the people it serves.
