ICO Receives ECU Health Grant to Support Cancer Patients and Mental Health

Interfaith Community Outreach (ICO) has been awarded a Community Benefit Grant from ECU Health to support the “Access to Healthcare and Cancer Mobility” program. The funding will help local residents facing cancer by providing transportation to treatments, travel assistance, and other critical support services. It will also help address mental health needs, offering counseling and resources for those navigating the stress and challenges that come with serious illness.

“This grant allows ICO to ease the burden for families facing cancer and mental health challenges,” said Executive Director Jenniffer Albanese, “From transportation to treatment to counseling support, we can help ensure no one has to face these difficulties alone.”
The program serves residents of Dare and Currituck Counties regardless of income, age, or background, helping the community stay supported through every step of their cancer and healthcare journey.
